WWRY VII performer list will be announced later in March.
Check back for dates and details.
First, and foremost, thank you for your interest in the show. We Will Raq You would not exist without the support of all the fantastic performers we've been privileged to feature on our stage.
Now, let's get to it!
We Will Raq You has sold out every show for the last 6 years.
We typically have more than 50 performers and audiences of more than 200.
Who: EVERYBODY is welcome to request a spot.
All styles, all experience levels. We love dance veterans and new performers equally!
For 2017
When: Showtime is 7:30 pm, Sept. 9, 2017
Where: The Laureate Center, Kannapolis, NC
Theme: Live and Let Die - Artists We've Lost
We don't repeat songs from year to year, so for a list of 'forbidden' songs, click on over here: http://wwryconcord.weebly.com/songs-from-the-past.html
How does this all work and how do I request a spot?:
To request a spot - E-mail your name/troupe or dance name, song title and artist to [email protected].
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU USE THIS EMAIL AND NO OTHER
Song length is limited to 4 minutes or less.
How it all works: Requests open in March.
Selections are made by song choices, so the more we think our audience will enjoy your song and performance, the better chance there is that you will get a spot.
We're going for the maximum amount of dancer/audience member happiness here!
For much of our audience, this will be the first (and maybe only) time they've seen belly dance. So we want them to be entertained and drawn in enough to (hopefully) want to see it again and maybe even check out classes at your studio. The best way to pull them in and give us all a chance to educate them later about our art is to lure them with music they will love. We want them to see your performance every time they hear 'your' song after the show.
Details: No repeats of songs from the last 3 years. (Lists will be posted)
No duplicating artists (List will be posted).
Songs are first come, first served (if you submit an identical song/artist later than another performer, the earlier request gets to 'keep' the song/artist).
NO CENSORSHIP!
Our show is NOT 'kid-friendly.' We do not censor lyrics or performances. This is your show to break out of the family-friendly box (not that there is anything wrong with it, we just aren't those chicks).
